DKU was founded as a partnership between Duke University, Wuhan University, and the city of Kunshan by far-sighted leaders who recognized a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on our global future. Today, our students, faculty, and staff continue to embody this mission—from providing clean drinking water and sustainable energy systems for rural communities to developing preventive measures against future pandemics and fostering cross-cultural understanding.
